Yukon Tavern
Colorado Springs, COGood eats
They have a pretty good menu here, full meals - not just bar food. Lots of pool tables and booths in the back, large bar in the front.
Tajine Alami
Manitou Springs, COTajine-style dining with all the trappings
My favorite restaurant, my wife and I have dined here a few times over the years, usually to celebrate our anniversary. The moment you step inside, you're immersed in Moroccan culture and style. Tapestries adorn every surface, big cushions are everywhere for you to sit on (there are no chairs, you sit on the floor around short tables), the staff dresses in traditional clothing and is very friendly and attentive, there's usually a belly dancer performing during the meal.. it's a total experience. Expect to pay upwards of $100 for a party of two (including a bottle of wine & gratuity), but remember that you're not just paying for a meal, you're paying for 2-3 hours of entertainment while you eat.
Melting Pot Restaurant
Colorado Springs, COGreat Fondue
I'm no expert at fondue, having only gone out for it a few times, but I've tried different places, and The Melting Pot is my favorite. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and do a great job of explaining the fondue process to beginners (like me). The atmosphere is very relaxed, with low lighting and privacy booths available, as well as regular table and booth seating. The price is comparable to other fondue places, meaning it's not cheap, but nothing out of the ordinary. They have a martini bar as well. All in all, it's a great place to bring someone special.
Pantry Restaurant
Green Mtn Falls, COWorth the drive
Nestled in scenic Green Mountain Falls, next to a beautiful lake, it's only a 15-minute drive from the west-side of Colorado Springs. Friendly service, great food (breakfast and lunch), outside dining available. My only complaint is that they're busy on the weekends, so expect a wait before seating. But if you're not pressed for time, and want some great food in a nice small town atmosphere, this is the place.
Western Omelette
Colorado Springs, COWhen they warn you it's hot, they're not kidding
Great southwestern-style food including awesome Tex-Mex dishes, large portions, insanely hot salsa (if you ask for it), local business charm. We typically eat breakfast there every Sunday, and have been for years.
