San Mateo, CAOishii!
Went here on a Friday evening and it wasn't too difficult to get a table. The wait wasn't any more than ten minutes. For appitizers we dined on chicken karaage, as well as the fried gyoza. The gyoza were decent, but the huge pieces of chicken karaage were piping hot and juicy. I had Sapporo beer to go along with the delicious dishes and saw that they also had different shoju cocktails (oolong tea/shoju, calpico/shoju, ume/shoju), a healthy selection of sake, and some wines.
For the main entrees we had the Tan Tan-men, which is a spicy miso with bean sprouts and ground pork ramen. The broth was spicy, but not "melt your face off" spicy. It was really good and will definitely be getting this again in the near future. We also had the Tonkotsu (pork bone broth) Deluxe ramen. This dish was heaven in a bowl. The pieces of stewed pork had to be some of the tastiest pieces of pork I've ever had in my life. The broth was not too salty and had a certain richness to it. And the noodles were scrumptious too.
Overall, great food and a destination for anyone who loves ramen!
