This is a hidden gem on Houston Ave. and Crockett. The menu is very unique. I tried the crab rangoon as an appetizer...delicious! The blueberry chicken breast was to die for and full of flavor. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. It's perfect for a romantic dinner for two. You can enjoy some live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays. I can't wait to come here again!

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays for dinner, you can have an appetizer, a side, main course, and dessert for $19.95! They serve authentic French Basque food. They bring you freshly baked baguette slices with whipped butter while you look through the menu. The escargots are delicious at Bistro Les Amis. The atmosphere is cozy and makes you feel like you're dining at a little European cafe. The service is excellent and personal. The owner, who is from French Basque area, is very friendly and makes her customers feel at home. One thing to note is that Bistro Les Amis does not have a liquor license, so be sure to bring your own wine!

I liked the decor and the little bar area. Try the Crazy Irishman specialty roll. The soups are good too. Parking is hard to find sometimes, and this place does get crowded, so you may need to RSVP if you don't want to wait.

Zabak's has the best falafel sandwich in town. The falafels are perfect and tasty with the right amount of spice. You can order them by themselves as a side. They also have good gyros. The service here is excellent. Zabak's is run by three siblings, who are all very nice and hospitable and will answer any questions you have about the menu. This place is also very inexpensive.
