Fort
Morrison, COLike a Mini Ride
You enter through big doors into a courtyard with high walls, like you were entering a Fort. The dining area is large and spacious. My family and I have had several holiday dinners here. You can order buffalo meat, some out of the ordinary bird meat, and other more basic, yet tasty meals. High end rustic atmosphere and service at a reasonable price. The drive into the foothills near Morrison is part of the ambience you will encounter. Nice place.
Ton Kiang Restaurant
San Francisco, CADim Sum, literally "touch the heart"
Go to Ton Kiang for one of the best Dim Sum dining experiences in San Francisco. Traditionally served morning to noonish alongside tea, but a good beer also fits the bill. Go slow and stay awhile. There is a constant array of delicacies brought to your table. Choose one and wave the next few off. They will be back to cordially offer another. I wish I was there right now!

Marble Canyon, AZGrand Canyon start in Marble Canyon
I have had the great pleasure of running the Colorado River's 285 Grand Canyon miles 13 times in my own raft, with other rafting and kayak friends. It's scarry at times, but most often the utmost fun. It's an 18 day journey, so an outstanding meal the night before launch is a big deal. Over the years the Cliff Dwellers Restaurant became the place to celebrate launch the next morning. First time all said, "what a surprising, complex menu out here in the desert, just off the main drag at the beginning of Marble Canyon and the Grand Canyon river entrance at Lee's Ferry." As time went on, and someone new in our rafting party asked "can we get a good meal way out here?," those who had been there said Cliff Dwellers. If you are starting a river journey, or just passing through, this is a place to stop, especially at sunset, watching the shadows play against the Vermillion Cliffs. You can dine outside. They also offer rooms, but I have never stayed the night.

Old Mill Brewery
Littleton, COComfortable patio
I ride bike trails with my friend Carl in the Denver area. They go here and there and everywhere. Denver is a premium place for bike trails. On various Mondays, in Spring, Summer, and Fall, Carl and I like to take the light rail out to the eastern side of Denver and ride back to Littleton for lunch on the outdoor patio at the Old Mill Brewery (that's it in the picture). Monday is our day for the Old Mill because you get two hamburgers for one (variety of choices and maybe take half home for dinner), an excellent salad to replace fries, and always tasty micro brew prices are reduced same day. Both are excellent after a morning ride, on a Monday, as the sun fades west. As the weekend approaches, Old Mill offers other specials. Friendly, well served place.
