It’s an incredible sushi spot near Lake Norman, north of Charlotte. It has a great atmosphere so it’s a great place to take friends or family. I can’t decide on a favorite sushi, though, and I usually have to switch it up to try new things. I usually order a Budweiser, some Saki, and three rolls of sushi.
You wouldn’t think it’s possible in North Carolina, but they make the best fish tacos that I have been able to find anywhere. Plus, it’s located in a cool, artsy neighborhood just north of uptown Charlotte, called NODA.
I like their lobster tail and their filet steak. I actually have a lobster dish named after me on the menu. I met the owner when I first moved to the area and I would usually get lobster when I went there, so he renamed it Kasey Kahne’s lobster tail. It’s sort of an industry hangout place as a lot of dishes are named after NASCAR personalities. I eat at the Birkdale Village location in Huntersville on Wednesday or Thursday nights usually when I can.
When you’re done eating at Red Rocks in Birkdale Village, go next door to Cold Stone for ice cream. I usually get vanilla with cookie dough crushed into it.
They are just awesome. I have been to the Nobu’s in Miami, Las Vegas, and New York. The fresh fish is just unbelievable and unmatchable by any other place.
