About Kasey Kahne


I grew up southeast of Seattle, Wash. in the small town of Enumclaw, wanting to race and got into it at age 14. After years racing short tracks around the country with my family’s support, I now live outside of Charlotte, NC and race the #9 Budweiser Dodge on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. My family has been a big part of my racing career, whether starting out working on the cars with me, or giving me the opportunities that have gotten me to where I am now. I’m doing what I love, and my family is still a huge part of it. The sport has exposed me to a lot of great opportunities and I’ve traveled all over America to race cars. But, I’m really a simple guy who likes to hang around with his family and friends and then race on weekends.

It’s a fun restaurant on the south end of Charlotte, so I try to head down there whenever I can. They make great Mexican food.

With our busy schedules and racing every weekend, I don’t go out much, but when I do, I like to hit the Rusty Rudder on Lake Norman on Tuesday nights. It is real easy to take a boat there from my house on Lake Norman. They have good lake food and a good atmosphere.

It’s always fun to bowl every once in a while. I like to do it, but I don’t often get a chance to get to any lanes with my busy schedule. When I do, it’s usually at Northcross Lanes near Lake Norman, north of Charlotte, NC.

On race weekends, like most NASCAR Cup drivers, I stay in a motorcoach at the racetrack. So I don’t stay at hotels very often. But when we race in Las Vegas, lots of drivers stay at one of the big hotel casinos. I try to stay or at least visit the Bellagio. The casino is great and the rooms are awesome. There are so many food options too. I like to play a little bit of black jack and roulette when I get a chance.

Every time I go back home to Enumclaw, Wash. and into town, I usually end up eating lunch there with some friends. It is just a nice, laid back, cool place with great food. You get anywhere from their sandwich, which I think are the best, to a pizza to a salad. I like to get their BLT or the Club. They have great drinks also. I know the owners, and they are really good people.
