Wild Ginger Asian Restaurant
Seattle, WAA Seattle Classic, Asian Fusion
Its been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Located across the street from Benaroya Hall (the Seattle Symphony), look for a good mix of black tie and hooded sweatshirts. Try the Fragrant Duck.
Tavolata
Seattle, WAEthan Stowell's rustic and fresh Italian Restaurant
Named for its 30' x 3' giant table made from the cross section of an entire fir tree, Tavolata is local favorite Ethan Stowell's second and most popular spot. Located in the trendy and always happening Bell Town neighborhood, its is open every day from 5pm-Midnite. They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more so come early with your date and relax with the wine list.
The menu revolves around classic Italian dishes. The focus is obvious: the incredible handmade pastas, made fresh minutes after ordering. Look for large roasts, chops, and steaks to go with the rich red wine. Do not expect a lot of green things on the menu. Everything is made to share. Order up a few and just pass em around.
Paseo Caribbean Restaurant
Seattle, WAProof that God is from the Caribbean
The best, freshest, most mouth wateringly good sandwich in the whole city. Get it to go, you can and will make a complete mess of yourself eating it. My favorite: The Cuban Press
How to Cook a Wolf
Seattle, WAEthan Stowell's smaller, amazing Queen Anne restaurant
Named after the famous MFK Fisher cookbook, this is my favorite of Ethan Stowell's Seattle restaurants (Tavolata & Union are the others). The place is much smaller than expected, seating maybe 20. Its very popular with the younger, hipper (pre-yuppie) crowd native to Queen Anne. Open from 5pm-Midnite Thursday-Sunday. They do not take reservations so get there early and get your name on the list; waits can become hours long after 7pm any day of the week.
Dishes are smaller and meant to be shared. My friend and I ordered and devoured 5 dishes and a bottle of wine. Where Tavolata is a more rustic Italian venue, the menu here is more modern with fish and seafood taking up half the menu. Check out the website for a sample menu.
A plus: Its on the short list of places in Seattle you can get decent Carpaccio.

Seattle, WASells more Jack Daniels than anywhere else on the west coast
