Great bar with a large upstairs at a reasonable sound level and a dancefloor downstairs. On a Friday or Saturday, the line can start forming even before 10:30 so get there early to avoid the lines.
Spice Thai Cuisine

Favorite Thai place around here. Great food, try their curries or any of their appetizers and they do the pad Thai well too of course. Comfortable and prim interior and the service is always great.

If you think there's no where to go in Kendall Square, you should mosy over to 1 Kendall and check out CBC. Nice tucked away outside seating area, quality pub food paired with eccentric entres, and excellent beer brewed on location.
Crossroads Irish Pub

Despite being across the street from MIT frats in the Back Bay, Crossroads escapes the big time feel of the Boylston Street bars and has a more authentic Irish Pub feel. Their chicken pot pie, served with french bread, is most excellent.
Pinocchio's Pizza & Subs
Cambridge, MAHole in the wall with my favorite pizza in Cambridge. I stick with their Sicilian style squares which really win me over with their dough. Unfortunately, they do not deliver.
