The newest, sharpest entertainment district in town. Has something to offer to just about anyone. You really just have to see it -- and make sure you go inside the main courtyard -- a hub of restaurants and bars, complete with a stage that hosts frequent live music performances by some surprisingly big name (or big name 10 years ago) bands.
Country Club Plaza

If you're new to Kansas City, and are looking for an upscale New York/European-style shopping and outdoor experience, this is the place to go. It is the oldest outdoor shopping center in America, dating back to the 1920's. It is fashioned with Spanish architecture to celebrate our relationship with our sister city of Seville, Spain. Gondola rides are available on Brush Creek and Cinderella horse-drawn carriages will tour you around the fountain-lined streets and high-end storefronts that make up the Country Club Plaza. You will see why KC is second only to Rome in terms of its fountains, as the best of the best are located here. Despite new tourist attractions and entertainment districts springing up around town, the Country Club Plaza should still be your number 1 stop when you get to Kansas City (though I'll understand if you want to see historic 18th & Vine jazz district first)
