My favorite breakfast in Denver...

Lucile's has the best breakfast in Denver, hands down (in my humble opinion). Fresh jellies and homemade spicy ketchup at every table, a ridiculous breakfast and lunch menu full of top-quality ingredients & my love of Southern cooking locked it into my favorites. I've yet to have anything from their menu that was less than great in almost ten years of going to both the Boulder & Denver locations.

Nothing's perfect though, and I gotta admit I have two problems with Lucile's. First, it's a little too popular. And while the food is delicious and definitely worth the wait, you gotta plan on killing a half hour before you're seated most weekends. And second, they close after lunch (unless their hours have changed and the world recently became a better place...LOL...I can only imagine how great dinner there could be). Regardless, I highly recommend you check out Lucile's for breakfast sometime, it's one of the best restaurants in town.

Now in our third year, the Solution w/DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme is stronger than ever. We started the party from scratch in an empty room in the basement of the Shelter (now Bar Standard) wanting to create "the kind of party we'd like to go to" and after a lot of hard work and determination, we're pretty damn close (if I do say so myself). We've since moved the party over to the rooftop of the Funky Buddha, you catch us there every Friday night. No cover / 21+ / Music at 9.

Over the last few years we've thrown a variety of theme parties (chicken & waffles, an annual J Dilla tribute, listening/release parties w/indie & major labels, art shows & more), featured a ton of great guest DJs (Denver legends DJ Chonz, Bedz & Psycho, Seattle's Risk One, internationally renowned turntablist DJ Vajra & more), played host to some of the finest up and coming talent in hip hop (Blu, Exile & DJ Day, Tanya Morgan, Mickey Factz, Theophilus London, Kidz in the Hall, Median, Che Grand & more) and most importantly, provided a weekly party for the heads that's based around quality hip hop. Hapa Life Sundays w/DJ Low Key...

I've been a fan of Hapa Sushi since they opened when I was going to school in Boulder. Then when I moved down to Denver after graduating, I started going to the Hapa in Cherry Creek to get my fix.
