The Inside Word for Troubadour

It's been around forever and it rocks! The best place to enjoy the acoustics is (if you are facing the stage) about 8 feet in front of the bar with the furthest corner of it at your right elbow. If you're not up for standing in the crowd, grab a seat in the balcony (if you're nice the doorman, he might give you a pass to get into the less crowded bar upstairs). You can usually get lucky with parking on Doheny north of Santa Monica, the street right behind, or on one of the side streets just south of Santa Monica a little east of Doheny.

The sound is great at this venue. You never really know what famous face you may be standing next to at any of the shows. If you're feeling lazy, they have a balcony upstairs, but you need to get there early to snag a seat for those usually get full for some of the more popular acts.
Park around the corner on the public street to avoid hefty parking charges from the restaurants or parking garages in the area. Just make sure you don't park on the parts that require a permit.

Female / 25 / Sherman Oaks, CAOne of my favorite venues in LA! Very intimate setting. You can see the stage no matter where you stand. I love seeing bands here. And if you need something for your stomach... other than alcohol... they have a tiny little kitchen and the chef makes an awesome grilled cheese!
SoundsVinyl
Male / 26 / Arcadia, CAThey only let good bands play here so it should always be a good show. Small stage, good bar.
