Denver, COBest Souvenir of the Great Depression
The last depression wasn't all bad news. Thanks to the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Denver area reaped the benefits of several federal projects, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Hundreds of New Deal laborers worked to create a stage and seating in this stunning setting; the amphitheatre, finished in 1941 and improved periodically since, is legendary with artists around the world. Less well known is the role of the CCC workers at Red Rocks — but their contribution is remembered with a statue at the entrance to the Visitor Center.

Red Rocks is truly an unknown Wonder of the World. On Sundays you can go and join a rare outdoor gym where any number of people will be running up and down the stairs, doing push-ups, or planter climbs. Summer Concerts here are truly amazing. No one is a Coloradan unless they have seen their favorite band play at Red Rocks. The natural accoutic sounds of the rocks, and the great Colorado nights, the only thing your missing is a great band, and a cold beer. Just get there early so you can stand in line!

Seriously, one of the ultimate outdoor venues in the world. Each artist plays their heart out when they get to Red Rocks. All's you need to do is sit back and enjoy the intense sound system with your friends and your favorite microbrew. Preferably 4 or 5 of them.
