I've been with the mothership company, Powell Peralta (who's been making skateboards for 30 years), for the past 10 years - and Positiv is the new offshoot brand from Powell. What's cool about their boards is that they're geared toward the skater who's starting out, like the beginner to intermediate skater. It's the exact same board that I ride. If you went into a mom and pop skate shop and bought a board each component at a time and went home and put it together, you'd be running $120 or $140 for a skateboard - but you can get a complete Postiv skateboard for $60.
