Male / Los Angeles, CAOne of my go-to spots in L.A.
This place is really good. Great atmosphere. Wonderful food. It's Mario Batali's place. I've seen him on the Food Network -- yes, I dabble in the Food Network.

I like the restaurant, NOT the pizza joint. Pizza place has good apps. The restaurant is GREAT all around. Pricey, but good Italian.

Female / 35 / Los Angeles, CAraviolo!!
sit a the mozzarella bar and dig in. just like it's sister restaurant, reservations are a month in advance to insure prime time dining. walk ins are welcome, and the bars (wine, mozzarella) are first come first serve. it's a bit loud and always busy, but well worth it. so many outstanding dishes, but to name a few... the raviolo, orecchiette sausage and rapini, striped bass, grilled octupus, roasted leeks and burrata, and of course the rosemary tea cakes with olive oil gelato.

Male / Santa Monica, CAa great meal all around!
i love coming here and wish my wallet could afford to come here more often (like once a week). i never sit at the tables because i enjoy sitting at the mozzarella bar and watching them work. nancy silverton (one of the owners) work behind the bar so it's kind of cool to see her work. however, she doesn't seem friendly or to be enjoying her work. hmmm.
the food here is great. i love the burrata with carmelized shallots, marinated escorole & bacon! just delicious! other dishes on the menu that rock are the grilled beef tagliata and porcini-rubbed rib eye bistecca. the desserts are good as well so make sure you save room.
the service is friendly and helpful and decor is warm and inviting. parking is valet along the alley so it's good!
