The Inside Word for Musso & Frank Grill

When I eat in LA, I like to go old school. If Frank Sinatra didn’t eat there, then it’s probably not that good.

Old School

It's kind of classic. It's almost like a hometown restaurant but really nice. Great steaks - I really dig it.

The real thing

I half expect Frank Sinatra to walk in when I'm eating here.

Grandma's Closet...

I think this might be Hollywood's old-time steak house. This place has been severing all walks of celebrity for 80 years and still packs in the locals. It's really like your grandma's old-fashioned food, but it's well worth the visit if you follow this rule: brave the old closet smell and have a few "Martini's"...in my opinion the best in Los Angeles.

Price:$$

Tip: Order the short ribs...classic!

If I could take you one place in Hollywood, it would probably be here.

Best Martini's In LA

Old school bar and restaurant. I think it's the oldest bar in Hollywood. Great vibe with a mix of young and old. local and tourist. Not unusual to see Colin Farrell and/or ZZ Top having drinks or dinner. Best Martini in town, and served with a side car for about $7.50 all handmade! Ask for Ruben and tell him RJ sent you...

Old School Hollywood

Musso & Frank is a piece of Hollywood history. Grab a serious cocktail from Manny at the bar (he's been there for over 30 years!) and then peruse the lengthy menu of traditional (somewhat pricey) American comfort food served in plentiful portions. It's the kind of place where you and your parents will be equally comfortable and have a great time. Love the sole and the steaks. They have valet parking in the lot in the back.
