I'd Eat Here Every Night

It's a seafood steakhouse. If you like atomic horseradish, it will knock you off your feet. The food is always great. If I say to my kids "give me one place you want to go right now - we'll travel anywhere," they choose Mastro's. The service is impeccable. It's one of those places that is a bar and a restaurant so you don't have to go anywhere else. If you're into spring training baseball and you want to see somebody, this is where you go - it's open in the bar area so you can see everybody. The pretty people are here, or you get the ugly ones like myself that hang out here who just like to eat. There's a Mastro's in other cities like Newport Beach - which are good, too - but Ocean Club sticks out because, per square foot, Scottsdale has the prettiest, sexiest women on the planet.

It is a see and be seen spot. You can get anything from great steaks to really nice chowder in the winter. It’s sort of what those of us in the Midwest call Chicago traditional steakhouses. It’s really, really good, and it’s also THE scene in Scottsdale.

I love the Mastro's chain

I think the Mastro's chain does a great job. They have Mastro's Ocean Club in different places – one in Newport Beach and this one in Scottsdale, AZ. The Mastro's in Beverly Hills is the first one I went to and now I’ve gone to different ones around the country. Mastro's just does a great job because of the aged beef and they have great sides. Also, it's a great atmosphere every time you go to any of them. I love to go to places and people watch because I’m used to so many people watching me because of what I did. Those are great places to watch people. I just get my back corner table and then I can check out all the scenes going on in the restaurant.

Favorite restaurant in Phoenix

I was kind of a seafood person before, but now I really am because this place really turned me onto it because it’s so good here. They have a great dessert -- the Warm Butter Cake -- which is my main reason for going here. For entree, sometimes I go with steak, but I usually go with the Chilean Seabass. When I go with the guys, we get the Seafood Tower. This is actually an appetizer, but there is a ton of seafood on it. Atmosphere is great if you want to go here and have a cocktail. They usually have music playing in the bar area.

Great seafood and steak. Their Seafood Tower is unbelievable. They have the best dessert in the world. It’s called the Warm Butter Cake. It’s unbelievable. It melts in your mouth. The scenery is awesome. It's always a good time. There is a bar in there that people like to hang out at, but I pretty much go for the food.
