Yes, There is Culture in LA

I've been a member at LACMA for years, and I recommend joining if you are interested in preview showings of new exhibits, advance movie screenings, and specially hosted tours which can give you amazing insight into an exhibit or an individual artist. Their permanent collection is filled with works by artists from varying cultures, periods and styles, and their new BCAM wing houses a collection of more contemporary art for those of you who don't want to have to trek downtown to MOCA. But what I love the most are the exhibitions they bring in (someone's doing their job right over there - Dali's paintings and work in film was a recent favorite), and the awesome live jazz (with cash-bar beer/wine) in the open courtyard in the evenings during the summertime.

Lots of new exhibitions all of the time. LACMA also holds themed events during specific nights. Live jazz music and cocktails at night.The main exhibition is free after 5 PM every night. (They ask for a donation, but it is optional.)

BCAM is their new contemporary art section. Absolutely amazing. Check out Jeff Koons.

Good date spot, ladies love a guy who can show them something new.
