The Inside Word for Lola
Westword Best Of
Denver, COBest Mostly Mexican Brunch
This isn't your typical huevos breakfast place. Lola's creative weekend brunch menu — right now, at least — includes crawfish and grits, catfish, chicken-fried pork, even a breakfast torta with smoked shrimp, Serrano ham and tomato-jalapeño jelly. And then there are the weekly specials, each one more inventive than the previous week's. The flavor is distinctly Mexican, with an emphasis on coastal cuisine — and on a sunny day, there's no better beach than Lola's outdoor deck, particularly when you're enjoying it with a margarita in hand.

I've only been for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles or the pulled pork bennie!

Female / 23 / Denver, COThis place to totally worth the trip for some seriously good tequila and 1/2 a heated patio. If you want to sit outside I don't recommend it when it's still cold though, because you may not get a heat lamp. They don't have flavored margaritas either (which are my favorite), but they have some seriously strong blends of tequila. Don't plan on driving home if you come here to drink.

Try the mexican seafood stew "Mariscos". Perfect spice. Good margaritas, guac, etc.

Scrumptious mediterranean cuisine. Posh and chic yet male friendly. Interior design is delicious too, the artsy decor adds an unforgettable spice to your experience in the Highlands. Great location. Calling all avocado lovers, this is your place!

Cool place, but I only go here to drink. I think the food is a bit too fancy for mexican food. Mexican food? The hole in the wall joints are where its at in my eyes.

Really fun place for drinks or dinner on their lively patio or inside room. Great specialty cocktails (the Q Coin tastes like it will put you on your ass at first sip but then mellows into refreshing yumminess) and really innovative apps and entrees, plus killer table-side guac (get it a 10 on the spiciness scale - it has perfect kick and isn't so spicy that you'll have to pound your Q Coin).

Female / 35 / Lafayette, COgreat food and service
gourmet mexican? with a lot of seafood. I had the famous hash with sweet potatoes, pork belly, roasted veggies and topped with eggs. Delish. They make the quac at your table to your spicy preference. Service is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. Price ranges 15-35 and worth every penny. Try the corn soup - heaven!
