The Inside Word for La Botte Ristorante

Wow is this a super Italian joint. And it has Valet parking on 7th. Octopus salad for an app, and the Quail Sausage for an entree.

My parents and I dined at La Botte during their last visit. They didn't allow me to order both the seafood risotto and the gorgonzola polenta because 'you shouldn't eat two starch dishes at one meal!' There were no survivors.

You wouldn't guess this place is what it is just by looking from the outside. But inside it looks like an Italian wine barrel filled with Italian people. Seriously, the walls are lined with wine bottles and the waiters all have Italian accents! I once had the pleasure of trying each of the vegetarian dishes in one night. It was all delicious but a few things stood out...the grilled polenta and the red beet stuffed pasta. And of course the wine recommended by the waiter was amazing.

I thought I knew every great Italian restaurant in the city. And then I discovered La Botte on LikeMe.

Don't let its location at the bottom of an apartment building fool you. La Botte offers scrumptious, progressive Italian served in an ambient setting (think wine cellar interior and handsome wait staff with thick Italian accents). They have an amazing wine selection and are knowledgeable for recommendations. You should try the stuffed squid appetizer and either the filet ravioli or the beet ravioli. If you are up for being really decadent (and maybe sharing with your dining companion), get the pasta with squab sausage and parmesan "fondue." The cheese is melted at the bottom so you stir the pasta around to mix it all in, and it is rich and creamy and delicious!
