Kona Village Resort

This was a family favorite growing up - the experience felt very authentic "hawaii" - no high rises and chain restaurants. All rooms are huts on the black sand beach, gorgeous swimming beach, local sealife, fresh cuisine - a really great family place. I believe it is currently undergoing renovations but will still retain it's original charm. Worth checking out = and there is always the four seasons right next door.
