The food is really good. The atmosphere is great. It’s upstairs/downstairs. It’s on the Chicago River, and they open up the downstairs and the breeze comes off the water. It’s awesome.

It’s top-notch. I love sushi, and this place has really good sushi. The kobe beef is phenomenol. It has everything I like all in one place. Great bar, crowd and atmosphere - it’s right on the water.

I love Japonais in Chicago, starting with the lounge downstairs which opens out to the Chicago River in the back. Great, great, great summertime hangout spot downstairs in the lounge, and in the bars, you can order stuff down there. Upstairs has got a pretty incredible array of foods – culinary experiences from sushi to hot appetizers to full entrees. I’ve never had a mediocre meal.

So this is where Madonna ate dinner when she was in Chicago on tour - so you KNOW it's good! It's a classy, upscale place and you get quality food dishes. Buy the seared tuna sandwhich - it is the best sandwich I have ever, ever had. Just thinking about it makes me crave it!!

In the summertime, sit outside on the patio with a glass of chilled wine. Seriously - it's amazing.

How many times do you use those words together? I love the riverwalk downstairs off the lounge with the canopied seats. The sushi is so tasty and the drinks are fantastic. Excellent people watching as well.
