Female / New York, NYI was just here and I loved it. It's gorgeous. Everyone in San Diego is super friendly, but they're extra friendly at this hotel. If you can get one of the penthouses on the top floor - they're huge. They're enormous. They have a whole steam room/shower and it has a bathtub in the actual steam room. I couldn't ask for anything more perfect. I was like, "I can sit and steam and have a bath at the same time?" They did a really great job. The rooftop is gorgeous. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Everything - room service - it was perfect. Normally I'll have issues with lots of things at hotels, but they are really on point and it was really lovely.

Nicest Hotel/Restaurant/Bar/Lounge/Pool combo in San Diego hands down. Gotta have a drink on the rooftop at sunset. Breathtaking views of downtown and the ocean all the way to Mexico. Plus they encourage scandalous activity here..... I'm just sayin...

When staying in the Gaslamp District take a chance on the Ivy, mostly for the "party" atmosphere. I like the decor which says stylish, sexy, and classy. The rooms at the hotel are like mini studio apartments, complete with a separate living & bar area. Guests of the hotel are given VIP wristbands for the ENVY nightclub, which allow you to skip the cover-charge and block-long line outside the hotel.
Price: $$$$
Tip: Take advantage of the butler and personal on-call Escalade service to drive you anywhere in town.

This place has a beautiful view and a great vibe. I love the resturant here, Damon Gordon's Quarter Kitchen, he also does the food on the rooftop, he is adorable and the food is great!

My girl friend gave the waitress a bunch of my birhtday presents. And, at random times during the dinner she would bring the gift on a platter. It was really fun. Has on of the better Interior Designs in San Diego.
