Female / Pacific Palisades, CAGreat Place!
This place is great. Somewhat quiet but not hushed. Lots of families eating together early. More couples and friends later. Dinner for two plus drinks and appetizers will be between $150.00 and $200.00. Casual feeling but people come dressed upscale casual.
Love the lobster, champagne with raspberries, corn chowder and the cheesecake. The meatloaf and fried chicken is amazing.

...which means a much more mellow and relaxing scene with a fantastic view of the ocean from a seat on the front patio. Same great menu as the Robertson location: grilled calamari, awesome onion rings, corn chowder, fried chicken, fish and chips, grilled veggie salads with chicken or shrimp, linguine with lobster (always on the list of specials), spaghetti & meatballs. Don't pass up the Ivy gimlet cocktail (ask for Belvedere!) or the berry cobbler dessert.

I was fortunate enough to have my first Ivy experience with veterans who assured me we ordered the best things on the menu. Now to pass on the wisdom to you...
-Belvedere gimlet
-Corn chowder
-Crab cakes
-THE CRUMBLE
*sidenote: I do anticipate returning again (and again) for the crumble. Please trust me on this, I am a dessert pro.

Male / Malibu, CAAlways awesome
Get the gimlet before the waiter even leaves your table. It's the best drink in LA. Then get the corn chowder. Anything for dinner, it's all good. And its huge. But save room for the ivy crumble. And get three scoops of ice cream. Its all about the bite to bite ratio. If you don't order extra scoops, it only comes with one and you will be bummed.

Male / 41 / Denver, COOutstanding meal in a postcard
The food was incredible, the service impeccable. It was just funny though, I literally felt like i was sitting in a post card; the beach was a football toss away, the waiters wear Hawain shirts, and you sit on wicker furniture that might have come from your grandmother's place in Palm Beach.
This said, it was an elegant meal. It was an understated scene, very much unlike the more famous sister restaurant across town. I will be back.
