The Inside Word for Father's Office

Male / Los Angeles, CAThis place is a free-for-all when it comes to tables. Not only do you have to bring your appetite, you have to bring your cunning survival skills. Also, they won’t give you ketchup. I like places that are prickly about their condiments.

Ridiculously busy, but a wall of taps and tasty goodness make it a must

There's only one way they serve their burgers...the best way. Sure, FO is famous for their Office Burger and Sweet Potato fries, but that's not all. Their Spicy Oatmeal Stout Ribs and Bistro Steak are also excellent choices. Did I mention they also have 36 taps of brewy goodness? Also check out the new FO 2.0 that just opened in Culver City which also includes 8 fabulous Cali wines on tap, an outside patio, and the space is 3 times larger. Downfall...the line is 3 times longer as well.

We arrived at 4:50 on a Wednesday afternoon. There was a queue already, which is a good sign for any restaurant. Conveniently there is a barber next door so I had a place to sit. The haircut wasn't bad either. Apparently there is always a line before opening, said the barber. Once inside, food ordered, an "appropriate" beer selected, I got a sense of what this place was all about - simple, no pretense food (the sweet potato fries are as good as they are popular), outstanding run of beers, efficient, friendly service. I will be back indeed.

the $24 dollar beer and you're set for the night! It comes in a 750 mL/wine bottle size that they bring to you in an ice bucket, so you look/feel cool being served. A lot of snobby losers frequent the place, so just grab a bar stool, order an Office Burger and pretend like you're in Paris.

just order a burger and a side of sweet potato fries. it comes out absolutely perfect and delicious - don't mess with trying to customize it ... they won't let you.

Female / 28 / Denver, COAmazing burgers. Seriously, possibly the best I've ever had. And the shoestring fries, unreal. Top it off with one of their hundreds of beers on tap - oh what a night. Not a ton of tables and always packed. It's okay to hover over them so you don't miss an opportunity to snag a table. I will make this a must stop on every trip to Santa Monica!

Male / 35 / Santa Monica, CAThey are known for the burger, but try the Ribs. I think they are the best thing on the menu now.

If you are visiting Santa Monica, you must visit Father's Office. Great gourmet burger. No ketchup allowed!

They have just the right combo of sweet and savory. Keep in mind that you must be 21+ to eat here even if you aren't ordering drinks.
