I always remember the scene in 'Big' whenever I step into this store, when Tom hanks is jumping on the floor piano - our kids feel as though they have died and gone to heaven in here - fun for the parents too! Only problem is getting them out!

Who doesn't love being a kid again? FAO Schwarz is the place to be teleported back to your childhood - and also realize how spoiled kids are these days by all of the cool stuff they are making now!! The NYC flagship store is the best - and even though it's always mobbed with tourists, it's absolutely worth braving the crowds and stopping in. Ride the escalator upstairs while surrounded by life-sized stuffed animals. Check out every Barbie ever made. Peruse the retro board games. Dance on the giant keyboard from the movie "Big." Play with the coolest electric race track ever. Find gear from all of your favorite movies ("Star Wars," "Harry Potter," etc.). I could go on and on - they've truly got it all. If you need to get a gift for the kid who "has everything," this is the place to come!
