Denver, COStreet Meet
Back in May, as my family drove through downtown Denver, we spotted an unusual sight: a tipsy gaggle of bicyclists coming down the street that made me smile and wave. These bikers wore no sleek paraphernalia made of super-wicking mystery fabrics, nor were they mohawked, pierced, lean and mean. They were regular folks like you and me, out for a leisurely evening ride, except for one thing: Their hair stuck out all over, pink and sequined and silly. Oh yes, I thought, of course. It was the first Wednesday-night Denver Cruisers ride of the year, I remembered, and the theme that week was Wigs and Bad Hair.
I'm not actually supposed to talk about this, but its hard to keep your mouth shut on the pure serendipity of it all. We've blabbed about it more than once, after all, particularly when Cruisers founder Brad Evans and his paramour-on-wheels, Erin Siegel, got hitched last fall during the last ride of the season. This is street theater made in heaven, the stuff we live for, typing away at our keyboards day in and day out.
So, golly, the Cruiser season is nearly over, and this week's theme is Ugly Sweaters and Mustaches, which fills my brain with a whole lot of interesting imagery, and is rather irresistible, anyway. So I'm mentioning: Tonight's ride starts with a meetup at the Ginn Mill, 2041 Larimer Street, at 6:30 p.m., and then it's off and away, into the night. Good-behavior rules apply, so cruise on over to www.denvercruisers.com for a newbie primer, and figure out how you're going to look when you get there. Cruise on.

Female / 24 / Denver, COCasselman's is such a cool venue! It's huge inside with really nice finishes. MTHDS put on a great show...everyone was dancing! And all the crusier's costumes were hillarious; lots of cross dressing. I would describe MTHDS as hip hop meets, jam band, meets reggae. Kind of like slightly stoopid + widespread panic + gym class heroes.
And Casselman's had really good cheddar brauts for $3
