They only let as many people in as they have seats so that the mixologists don't rush in making your cocktail, which makes for a very civilized experience all the way around. It's first come, first served regulated, by a doorman who just looks like a dude loitering by the entrance - but he'll take your cell and buzz you back when there's space for your party if he has to turn you away. The specialty cocktail menu is long and diverse, so sample something new every time you go and be sure to get input from the waitstaff, who look like artist hipsters but really know their stuff.

This place is cool on all levels. Its a small elegant, dark but very laid back proper bar that specializes in master mixology and a small bar menu that reflects the integrity of the bar. Small batch distillers, home made elixers and very well made cocktails in the east village of NYC. The name has a very cool history but you'll have to go there to get the story.

I miss my old hood. This place opened after multiple run-ins with the neighbors who couldn't see why the East Village needed another bar. For all of us who started our love of secret-like gin joints with Milk & Honey, Death & Co. takes the formula and adds a macabre, glam style, small bites and realllly good drinks.

Tight, dark, and worth the shouting. The beverage menu is extensive and complicated, but they make stuff that is so good you won't know how you got that drunk.
