Chic on Main

Its previous incarnation - Hidden - suffered from a schizophrenic menu (sushi plus pizzas plus a bunch of other kinds of cuisine), and the fact that the place really was hard to find. The restaurant's still obscured from street view, but now a red valet umbrella signals you've hit the right block. And in Josiah Citrin of Melisse's capable hands, it's been reborn as the sleekest spot on Main Street. This place is huge, with loads of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is less fussy than you'd expect from a chef who's received 2 Michelin stars, studded with charcuterie and cheese plates, spectacular grilled calamari, yummy flatbread pizzas, steaks, and other casual fare. (Although there's still a decadent seared foie gras.) The music they play is really great (suited to the loungey vibe) - and the place picks up on the weekend with a hip bar crowd.
