Male / Los Angeles, CAGood spot to pick up some nice clothes and then grab a bite in their restaurant.

Male / 29 / Los Angeles, CAWhen I have money, I shop at Barneys. When I don't, anywhere else.
Because I'm so psychotically tall, I kind of have to shop at nice places. When you're 6'7" there's a lot of road blocks for clothes.

Female / New York, NYI love the building. I love the location. I love the cosmetics floor - I just love the way it's laid out and they have a great selection. The handbag section is pretty deadly too. And I love going upstairs - I like the restaurant upstairs, especially outside on a nice day. It's really, really pretty.

Female / 21 / Los Angeles, CAWhen I walk into Barney's, I lose myself in the fifty million articles of clothing I want to, but obviously can't, all purchase.
If you're looking for fashionable, high-end clothing, this is the place to go.
Definitely not a place for those who like very conservative clothing.

Yes, Barneys is "the" luxury department store in LA. Neimans and Saks are also great for high end items, but while they can tend to cater to the old guard, Barneys is all about what's new and chic. The beauty counter staff actually know what they're doing (I've gotten my make-up done by Happy from the NARS counter outside of the store), the shoe department staff have an eye for guiding you towards something that may not look that special until you have it on, and then there's both formal and casual designer duds for both guys and girls, as well as dope coffee table books and some unique home decor items, as you climb the stairs... As you would expect, the staff is really helpful (hello - commission??) and they have a great tailoring service to get your fit just right. When you get totally starved from all your shopping and spending, hit the top level for a bite at Barneys Greengrass - if it's a nice day, the terrace is great for slightly dolled up deli fare (their matzoh brie is heaven), but I also love grabbing some traditional nosh from the old school New Yorkers who run the deli counter and taking it to go. Contrary to the norm, I've found the self-parking is usually more convenient here than valet - just remember to get validated.

Need a moment ladies to escape the stress of your day? One stop shopping. shoes, make up, clothes. High end designers on the 2nd floor, lower end more reasonable prices on the 3rd floor. Barneys Greengrass is upstairs to get a quick bite. I suggested sitting at the bar if you're solo and on a mission.... quick service for quicker shopping. Ask for Tony on the 2nd floor in personal shopping. He'll find exactly what you're looking for. Ask for Michelle in shoes on the first floor.
