I hate shopping usually, but Academy is a great place to run into friends you drank with two nights before and letting them see you withou makeup on while shopping in the kids department for smaller jerseys. Yup - really cool.

Low tech sports and outdoors

Nothing fancy here, no ski or bike selection, and a lot of items that are pretty pedestrian. But the prices are great. Good hunting, fishing, and camping section...this store says Texas to me, coolers and cammy.

Need a funky costume for a scavenger hunt, flip cup tourney, theme party, etc? Just wander the halls of academy and I guarantee you'll find one. For our dress up flip cup tourney we found awesome bright orange vests, camo shirts, and dayglo hunting caps. For like $30 total. It was a hit!
